It's the season of love! We think you should always find time to give yourself a little love and spread the love around, but what better excuse to get out of the house this week and show your love around the Lehigh Valley! Here are some (mostly free!) events where you can spread love, grab a beer, or just plain boycott the holiday and do whatever you want! Love means never having to say you're sorry, right?? Have a great week, and from all of us at Live Well, we love you!

MONDAY

Lehigh Valley Girls Pint Out Night (6pm-8pm / Free)
Are you a female that loves the science and craft behind beer just as much as you like drinking a pint? Come to the first 2018 meeting of LV Girls Pint Out at Grain in Allentown—no membership process, just come enjoy door prizes and chatter about craft beer. See how Girls Pint Out works to influence the craft beer community and why they have over 80 chapters in 40 states!

Yoga Nidra and Pranayama (6:30pm-8pm / Free)
This collaboration between the Cancer Support Community and Kula Heart Yoga is the absolute perfect way to start your Valentine's week with tapping into your innermost truth through gentle movement and guided meditation. The class is free to anyone affected by cancer and runs each Monday through April.

TUESDAY

Happy Mardi Gras! We all know it's time for some overindulgence (be sure to grab your organic fasnachts early before they sell out!) but before you dive into that King Cake, why not take some time to make a promise to yourself this season? It's SO much nicer than giving something up—and you might just stick with it longer than getting rid of those hard ciders from your fridge.

How to Empower Women (4pm-5pm / Free)
In such a testy climate for women, this panel discussion at Moravian College's Priscilla Payne Hurd campus employs frontline activists to open up about social justice and gender equality. Hosted by the biweekly podcast Inside 254 that focuses on gender events and world issues.

Happy Hour Food Forum (5pm-7pm / Free)
Join Wild Fox Farm along with Buy Fresh Buy Local, Godshall Farm, and Penn State Extension - Lehigh County at Bethlehem Brew Works for an open conversation between consumers and Lehigh Valley food producers. Discuss the what, where and whys of your food choices—which may be a great start to a promise to yourself this season to care more about what goes into your body and how our local growers can help you make the right choices.

Galentine's Day!
Chances are if you've been reading this blog or you've gotten to know any of us, you know we are all fans of ladies celebrating ladies and we just so happen to also love ourselves some Parks & Rec. Put ovaries before brovaries this year by hitting up your favorite spot or check out the specials at Allentown Brew Works, Sunset Grille, and Ju-Ju Monkey (wine tasting, yass!) and be sure to treat yo'self.

WEDNESDAY

Happy Valentine's Day, loves!

Singles Awareness Day Anti-Valentine's Day (6pm-8pm / Free)
Are you single and super over this love-filled commercial holiday? Or maybe you are attached but not into the overpriced, underwhelming food you might find at other local places. Check out Cafe Frais' delicious fare and let Tre Locally Sourced feed you this Wednesday.

Valentine's & A Good Cause
Starting tonight at Union & Finch in Allentown and continuing through February 17, enjoy a prix fixe dinner offering for $45—$5 of which will go directly to the American Heart Association. A great way to celebrate a romantic dinner and give back this V-Day.

THURSDAY

Herbal Remedies and Essential Oils for Moms (11am-12:30pm / $5)
Learn how essential oils can improve your everyday life—and your kids' lives too. Make an herbal infusion for daily use and find out how essential oils can help the health and wellness of your family. Grab tickets here.

Pizza and Chocolate with IABC (5:30pm-7pm / $15 for members; $20 for nonmembers)
If one of your goals this year is to get networking and grow your business life, why not do it over pizza and beer at the Easton Public Market? The IABC Lehigh Valley brings fellow business communicators together to share stories and make connections while you can have pizza and beer from Scratch, learn about chocolate from Chocodiem, and search for new strategies to take home with you. Register here.

Immunity Boosting Syrups & Elixirs Workshop (6pm-8pm / $40)
Get out of this heinous flu season unscathed! Join the experts from Hilltop Herbals at Common Space in Easton and make delicious tasting medicinal syrups and elixirs that you can sip to boost your immunity or drizzle over food. Includes a detailed demonstration with recipes and a full bottle of syrup to take home.

FRIDAY

Mystery Book Discussion Group (10am-11am / Free)
Each third Friday, this group meets to discuss a monthly mystery title at the Moravian Book Shop in Bethlehem. Making a promise to read more this season? Let these guys keep you accountable and find some great titles in the process.

Fowler Literacy Center Open House (11am-3pm / Free)
Have you always wanted to get your GED or want to look into more literacy education opportunities for your kids or friends? The Fowler Literacy Center, partnered with ProJeCt of Easton, wants to help you achieve those goals. Find out what they're all about—no excuses!

SATURDAY

Lehigh Valley Beer Week
One of my favorite weeks in the Valley, LV Beer Week has its official start tonight and goes through February 24th with TONS of events all around the area. Some of my favorites to check out: cheese and beer pairing at Yergey, Meet the LV Brewers, Pints for Paws at Broadway Social (benefitting Last Chance Ranch), and Pour It Forward at Porter's Pub (benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Easton).

Lehigh Valley Polar Plunge (9:30am-2pm / $50 min donation)
Maybe your promise this year is to be freezing cold and if so, the Polar Plunge is totally for you. Take a freezing dip in the Delaware and raise money for the Special Olympics. Even if you're "Too Chicken" (raising my hand over here), you can still donate and stay warm while everyone else jumps in!

Elderberry Syrup Workshop (10am-12pm / $40)
Elderberry is known for its healing properties as an immune booster through the cold and flu season. Learn about gathering and the benefits of this healing berry. You'll make a delicious tasting medicinal cordial that you can serve your dinner guests in mixed drinks, sip on cool winter evenings, drizzle on your favorite dessert or morning oats. Deliciousness and immunity? Sign us up.

Photography Boot Camp with Dan's Camera (10am-3pm / $70)
Making more time for hobbies is definitely on my list this year, so if you have a camera you've been dying to capture the world with, Dan's Camera City experts will guide you through the basics in this in-depth course. If you can't make the February class, there's one happening on March 17, too! Sign up here.

SUNDAY

SouthSide Cocktails & Craft Beer Week
When you're skirting around the Valley this weekend into next week checking out Beer Week, don't forget about SouthSide Bethlehem and all they bring to the craft beer and cocktail scene. Through February 25, check out tours of Social Still, meet the brewers at Bonn (they're awesome), and enjoy weekly specials and pairing menus.

Yoga & Brunch at Easton Public Market (8am-9:30am / $22)
If you're sick of all the booze and chocolate-filled treats from the week, sign up for some poses and breakfast from Greenmouth to bring your body back to normal. And if you want to go right back to the chocolate on Monday, we don't judge, you earned it!

Mead Mug Making Class (2pm-3pm / $30)
I've never dabbled in ceramics, but knowing I could make a cup especially for mead totally has me intrigued. All ages can enjoy a pottery class, but for the older artists, the class includes a mead tasting of the selections from Colony Meadery. Grab a spot here.

*Got an event we should list in upcoming weeks? Shoot us an email here or leave a comment to be considered. We have final approval for all listings, but we love suggestions!
