We love this time of year. It’s not too hot, not too cold, and you can dress however the hell you want and just call it a Halloween costume (...I say to myself on my third consecutive day wearing yoga pants). Plus, foliage! Cider! Pumpkins! This weekend’s activities present an opportunity for embracing the great outdoors, getting active and crafty, and drinking adult beverages while dressed up as a pirate. The kind of balance we should all strive for, really. Enjoy!

Friday

Easton Yoga Rocks Halloween (6:30pm - 7:45pm | $17)
This class gives new meaning to corpse pose! Start your weekend right with a funky, spooky twist on your favorite flow. Drop-ins welcome!

Speakeasy Party at Two Rivers (7pm - 11:30pm | Free)
For a less spooky twist on the traditional Halloween party, hit up Two Rivers this Friday. Come dressed up in Twenties style outfits and enjoy Prohibition Era cocktails. Embrace your inner flapper! Fringe and headbands highly recommended.

Halloween Cookie & Storytime at Easton Public Market (5pm - 7pm | $5 per kid)

Grab the kiddos and head to the EPM, where they’ll decorate cookies to go along with a secret potion hot chocolate, and enjoy their treats while they listen to some ghostly stories.

Saturday

Cooking with Scraps at Easton Public Market (2:30 - 4pm | Free)
Learn how to turn your peels, cores, rinds, stems, and other edible odds and ends into delicious meals. EPM’s chef Ada Chandler will prepare two different recipes from the cookbook Cooking with Scraps for sampling, and demo tips and tricks for using unused scraps and oft-discarded foods like tomato skins, potato water, and canned bean liquid.

Kumihimo Bracelet Workshop at House of Metalworks (1 - 3pm | $15)
When was the last time you actually made something with your hands? Remind yourself just how rewarding that is, and get a kickass bracelet for your hard work. This is one of House of Metalworks’ most popular classes and features a form of Japanese weaving called kumihimo.

Guided Yoga Hike with L.L.Bean on South Mountain (10 - 12pm | $20)
This is our kind of cross-training! Led by expert instructors, you’ll hike 1½-2 miles, stopping 3 to 4 times at different scenic locations to stretch, pose and meditate. This is a perfect outing for yoga enthusiasts to get more cardio exercise and for hikers to learn more about body flexibility and mind-body awareness. All levels welcome.

Live Music at Eight Oaks Distillery (3 - 6pm | Free)
Each Saturday evening, Eight Oaks is bringing some of the best from the local music scene out to their scenic New Tripoli tasting barn. Enjoy the fall weather with their indoor/outdoor setup, handcrafted cocktails, and some of the best country views in the area.

Nightmare on Hamilton Street Bar Crawl (6:15pm - 2:15am | $25)
Time to get (responsibly) boozy and roam downtown Allentown. Stops on the crawl include The Hamilton, Queen City BBQ, The Dime, Bell Hall, 99 Bottles, Chickie's & Pete's, and Brew Works. Tickets include t shirt, event cup, food and drink specials, and chances to win prizes for your costume at each stop. Tickets can be purchased at The Hamilton Kitchen and Bar.

Pirate Pub Crawl in Easton (4 - 10pm | Free)
If you reside on the other side of the Valley, no worries. Easton’s got a bar crawl, too! Sail the stormy seas of the Beermuda Triangle (Porter's Pub, Two Rivers Brewing Company, and Black & Blue)! Dress up in your favorite pirate garb for a chance to win prizes.

Farm Days at Kreeky Tree Farm (10am - 4pm | Free)
This Saturday and Sunday, head to Slatington to meet a couple of our favorite farmers, Chris and Allan, and their gang of cute farm animals--donkeys, chickens, ducks, goats, and more! They’ll have fresh eggs, chicken, goat cheese, canned goods, and much more for sale.

Sunday

Run the Vineyards 5K at Tolino Vineyards (9am -12pm | $42)
Hurry up and register for this race while you still can! The run will take place through Tolino’s gorgeous vineyards overlooking views of the Pocono Mountains, AND you get to finish up with wine and gourmet chocolate. Dress to impress for the costume contest.

Guided Yoga Hike with L.L.Bean (10am - 12pm | $20)
If you can’t make this yoga hike on Saturday, you have another chance today!

Farm Days at Kreeky Tree Farm (10am - 4pm | Free)
One more chance to see some cute farm critters and snag some of the best goat cheese in the Lehigh Valley!
